Dog Recovers From Viscious Bear Attack

Roxie, a 6-year-old boxer, and her owner, Tim Peltz, of Mount Pleasent, Wis. got out of his truck on Oct. 17. Roxie went over to the woods and met up with a mother bear who bit Roxie and swung her around. Peltz went into the house for a gun, but when he returned the bears were gone and Roxie was bleeding out. The vets didn't think she would make it, but she's proving to be a very strong dog indeed.

  1. Poor dog! Poor bear! I don't think either animal was to blame. The bear was doing her job, and the dog was being a dog. It's good to know that Roxie might make it. Bears are getting more common around Minnesota and Wisconsin these days. I guess we humans need to watch our pets more carefully. In which part of Wisconsin is Mount Pleasent?

  2. You did a great job of putting important information in your first sentence. I'm so sad to hear about the dog. I've been hearing a lot of bear stories lately, I wonder why?
